I’ve been asked to do the electronics for Julian Anderson’s piece Book of Hours at this years Proms.

The Birmingham Contemporary Music Group commissioned Julian Anderson to write a piece for ensemble and electronics. Lamberto Coccioli , my composition teacher at the time at Birmingham Conservatoire helped the composer with the electronics. During the premier, I assisted Lamberto with the setup, plugging things in, testing MIDI devices etc.

I have continued to pursue my interest in live electronics and the use of technology in composition and performance. This led to working with Johannes Maria Staud and the BCMG for his new work One Movement and Five Miniatures for ensemble, harpsichord and live electronics.

Thanks to BCMG’s excellent record in championing new works, Book of Hours will now be performed at this years BBC Proms and I have been asked to oversee the electronics for the piece.
