JG records Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima in Jesus College Chapel, Cambridge.
Programme: – Joe Snape: Not for use in dwellings – Lutoslawski: Subito – Kotonski: Study on One Cymbal Stroke – Penderecki: Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima
2x cardioids (about 90 degrees, spaced 20cm) and 2x omnis (spaced about 90cm) on a 1m stereo bar behind the conductor. Recorded straight to an Edirol R-44. I had planned on using spot mics on the sections and to go through a Yamaha 01V96, recording from the direct outputs and using the R-44 as a 4-track backup. But time and space restraints prevented this.
