Chromatic Fantasy Recording

Dan Tidhar performs JS Bach’s Chromatic Fantasy in D minor BWV903.

I record Dan Tidhar (Centre for Music and Science, University of Cambridge) as he performs Bach’s Chromatic Fantasy in several different temperaments.

Recorded as part of Dan’s research project where he is developing a system to automatically detect the temperament of existing harpsichord recordings for archival purposes.

Recorded using the usual Schoeps MK2H omnis and MK4 cardioids in the CMS recording studio. The MK4s never made it to the final mix due to the uncomfortably accurate stereo imaging. Reverberation courtesy of Lexicon and several hours tweaking.
